Silver Birch (Scotland) Ltd was established in 1996, as a project within
Lennox Castle Hospital,
designed to give residents some form of physical activity.
Due to expansion and increase in demand, the project moved into the community
and was set up as a charity and company limited by guarantee.
The organisation has developed over ten years to meet the changing needs of the people supported
by Silver Birch. The focus is now on providing work experience and training, which gives
a strong sense of purpose for the individuals, as well as the opportunity to learn skills to move towards meaningful
employment.
The organisation is managed by a voluntary board of directors, who have skills
in learning disabilities, community, finance and compost.
We currently have a staff team of ten, outlined below:
